From the Church Wardens

Harvest Supper - Saturday Oct 4'h at 7.00 pm - Burley Hall

This year we are going to use our Harvest Supper to support two very important causes that are close to St Peter's folk.

Firstly, the Mothers’ Union is going to provide soup for the meal and some of the proceeds of the evening will go to support the ‘Soup Kitchens Project,’ which is an initiative for the M.U. this year. We are also going to support the ‘Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Association’ in their research into the disease, from which our Reader Mike is suffering.

The tickets will cost £6 and include a three-course meal. Jan has arranged for us to be entertained by George and Patrick, two guitarists who come highly recommended by ‘Waverton Chats.’

As usual, if you would like some wine or beer with your meal, please

bring it along. Soft drinks will be provided. Tickets will be on sale

from September.

Harvest Sunday October 5th.

9.00 a.m.   Holy Communion

10.15 a.m. Harvest Family Service

6.30 p.m.  Evening Prayer

Our very good friend Revd. Melvyn Davies will be leading our services on Harvest Sunday and at each service there will be a collection of harvest goods which will be sent to ‘Save the Family.’

Rather than fresh produce, ‘Save The Family’  prefers  to receive

non-perishable gifts of dried or tinned produce, such as tea, coffee, baked beans, tinned vegetables, tuna, rice and pasta, which will last a little longer. Please bring along your gifts to your preferred service on Harvest Sunday; they will be very gratefully received.

We have invited the uniformed organisations to share in our Harvest Service at 10.15 a.m. and we look forward to having them with us.

Let us enjoy a great weekend of fellowship together and give thanks to our Lord for his generous gifts to us.
